Published 1974, Flamenco Gitano combines photographs made in the Andaluz pueblas of Moron de la Frontera, Lebrija, and Alcala along with gypsy cante translated by the late flamenco guitarist, Chris Carnes. Treasured by flamenco afficianods for its authentic evocation of the music and spirit of the gypsies of Spain, the book has also become a classic example of the use of photography to portray social and cultural experiences.
